What is Advantage Music Teaching?

Advantage Music Teaching has its origins in Advantage Music Academy, a brick-and-mortar music school in Peppermint Grove, Western Australia. The Academy was established with the purpose of bringing a high level of professionalism to the industry. Owing to its remarkable success, the Founding Director, Steve Armstrong, and the Early Years Director, Brock Stannard-Brown, want to share their knowledge, resources, and experience with you.

Founder & Director

STEVEN ARMSTRONG

Steve founded Advantage Music Academy in 2018 with 19 students and one teacher, growing the Academy to over 300 students and 11 teachers today. Steve has over 20 years' experience teaching the piano and is a multi-award-winning former lecturer of musicology, holding undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in music and educational leadership. He is also a piano examiner at the Australian Music Examination Board. Steve brings a wealth of experience, education and training in piano, musicology and education to Advantage Music Teaching.

Early Years Director

BROCK STANNARD-BROWN

In addition to teaching 50+ piano students every week at Advantage Music Academy, Brock is responsible for developing and delivering early years programs and has done so with phenomenal success. Brock is an immensely popular piano with extensive experience in both group and one-to-one contexts. He works with children of the age of just two years and holds undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in music and teaching.
